DESCRIPTION:
Connect your RS232 serial device wirelessly to your PC (via USB) with our Firefly (RS232) and FirePlug (USB)Pair! This combination simplifies the PC Setup and creates a Bluetooth Class 1 wireless connection up to 100 meters (330 feet) away. Just plug these units in, set the baud rate DIP switches and you are connected; simple USB - COM Port driver included.

The FirePlug is a Class 1 Bluetooth™ to USB - serial adapter. It plugs into the USB port on your PC, but shows up in Windows as a COM Port (Serial Port). The Windows Bluetooth drivers/stacks are NOT needed! No messy pairing using Windows. When used together, the FireFly/FirePlug Pair provide instant cable replacement, pairing automatically via their built in dip switches.

Unlike standard Bluetooth USB Adapters that have just a Bluetooth radio, the FirePlug is an intelligent bluetooth serial device, capable of being permanently "paired" with the FireFly. With the FirePlug's onboard memory, you no longer need to rely on Windows to retain the connection.   You can reboot your PC, turn it on and off, upgrade to Vista, you can even move the FirePlug from one PC to another - it doesn't matter. The units stay paired, and Windows just sees the FirePlug as a COM Port!

The FirePlug runs the Bluetooth SPP (Serial Port Profile) on its own with no help from Windows, and it retains the bluetooth pairing information in its onboard flash memory.   So set it up once and forget it!
